At first the group could be put under the genre of hiphop/turntablism, but not any more. C-Mon & Kypski can bring their music to you LIVE in a totally unique way. No static laptop stuff but live video scratching, live drums, keys, guitars, live sampling, boomin’ beats, lights, the whole nine yards.

Their concept was to create a shoe that people who make music can immediately relate to. The guys were given carte blanche on the design. The color way refers to the artwork of their latest album Where the Wild Things Are�. The insole pattern is made from their first logo – a head with a turntable for a brain. On January 8th, Jordan Brand held a press conference to officially introduce the Air Jordan XX3 to the public. At this press day they also released a photo of Michael Jordan, the business man, wearing a pin-striped suit holding this pair.

Though the Jordan XX3 release was not the most limited (”Thunder” Jordan 4 limited to 500 pairs & UNDFTD Jordan 4 limited to 72 pairs), the Jordan XX3 drew lineups and campouts at every store except for those who did lotteries.  In addition to the 529 pairs (23 stores x 23 pairs) released in the US, there were another 529 pairs released outside of the US.  Canada had the most stores out of any international location with 5 stores.
A few pairs leaked onto eBay prior to the release - most of which from Toronto.  The shoes sold for above $1,000 instantly with some auctions closing for more than $2,000.

The twenty-third year for the Air Jordan series was looked forward to by Jordan Brand executives as well as by Jordan heads. From his high school days until his retirement, of course minus a few months wearing #45 and #7 that he sported in the Olympics. Jordan has pretty much become synonymous with the two digit number. He has made this prime number a number that stands for excellence and greatness.

The inspiration of the design is a combination fo a number of things; Sleek racing lines of the auto world, Carbon fiber-based monocoque of F1 race cars, Race car driving shoes (rubber heel wrap) and Fine Italian dress shoes (bold stitching on the soles).

Well the Air Jordan 18’s was no disappointment. With a new Jordan box with a nice cut out 18 with foil behind it and a new pull-out opening the box itself was just SUPER! Ok, it wasn’t a briefcase, but c’mon I’d rather pay $175 than $200 for Jordans.

Brush and Towel

In the package there was also a brush (black suede hi-tops) and a towel included. A great set of tools that simplifies the cleaning of the shoes.

Many hoped to see this colorway return again in the 2008 Countdown Package, but fans of the shoes will have to hunt for the retro pair that is nearly 10 years old.

Though the colorway was the same as this pair, the shape was different as well as missing the Nike Air logo on the back (replaced with a Jumpman).
